CARLA ALTÉS
(Entrepreneurship)
2022 - Present
Altés is my last name and a tribute to my father, a carpenter
for over 30 years. Altés is a business model that incorporates
the figure of the product designer into the current craft business
model.
The motivation for this project stems from the close connection with the craftsmanship and my origins and with one of my passions: design and love for handmade and carefully crafted things.
Winner of the first edition of the UP-Flama contest held by the UPF-BSM this March, 2022.

Altés is a platform connecting three usually disconnected
parties: artisans, product designers and end customers. Starting
in the wooden furniture sector, the customer will actively participate in creating their
furniture/piece through consultation sessions with the product
designer.
This interaction results in unique, artistic pieces made from the client’s ideas by innovative and creative designers and produced by artisans from areas with a long tradition.
At the same time, the platform will be a tool for the dissemination and visibility of young and emerging product designers and satisfy a consumer who gravitates towards conscious, sustainable consumption that seeks unique and personalized pieces.

in rural areas. We are starting in the lands of the Ebro.
(Vision)
- Demonstrate that traditional local values must be preserved for
innovation.
- Produce with supply chains as short as possible.
- Encourage a new way of creating that promotes the talent of emerging artisans and designers.
- Connecting craftsmanship with creativity and talent with skill.
- Establishing a direct dialogue, with shared values, between brand and factory.
